Major League Baseball

I watched the last 3 innings of the Washington/Dodgers game and listened to the Cubs game on radio. Wish I had seen the bunt defense and tag out in the Cubs game for sure.
Rangers really took a beating.

Cleveland lost 3-2 at Chicago and then lost again last night at home getting crushed 9-3
They are now 9 innings away from blowing their 3-1 game lead and losing the World Series to the Cubs.
However the odds makers have the Indians favored to win tonight at home.

Being less than 2 hours from Cleveland, obvisouly there's a lot of talk around here. I think everyone is nearly in shock how the Indians have blown it the last two games. If nothing else, it's been one of the most interesting and exciting World Series in some time, at least for us around here. If the Indians play tonights game like the last two, they deserve to lose. I can't imagine they'll lose three in a row, but then I didn't think they'd lose the last two like they did.

I tuned the game on last night just to check the score. Just in time to see the "Grand Salami". Reminded me of a comment Dizzy Dean made while announcing a game. When a GS was hit he said "Well, looks like that got the pitcher out of trouble". Had to love ol Diz

I remember seeing Dizzy Dean as a guest on the Dick Cavette show in the early 70s so many entertaining stories.

Story of a baseball scout sent to check him out as a teenager pitcher. Scout saw him knock a couple of squirrels in the
head out of a tree by throwing rocks left handed. Scout walks up to him asking you're a lefty?
"Naw, just use my left hand when we wanna eat 'em... Maw says using my right hand tears the meat up too bad."
About so many of his stories he'd say, "If ya done it, it ain't braggin'." He was quite the character.

Maybe one of the greatest pitchers ever before he injured his arm pitching after he broke his toe.
When told x-rays showed he had fractured his toe it's reported he said "Fractured? H-ell the d-amn thing's broken!"

He once threw a no hitter for 8 innings before finishing with a shut out in the 1st game of a doubleheader.
Then his kid brother Paul aka "Daffy" threw a no hitter in the second game.
In the locker room after he said "Gee Paul, If I'd a know'ed you was gonna throw a no hitter, I'd a-throw'ed one too."

Always enjoyed Dizzy Dean and Peewee Reese.....can still remember Dizzy doing those Falstaff beer commercials. Sometimes by the bottom of the 9th he sounded like he had drank every beer that he held up and advertised in the commercial. "The choicest product of the brewer's art".

Me Too. Great movie. But I'm going to watch game 7 because baseball players put their hands over their hearts when the national anthem is sung.

Now people are blaming lebron james for jinxing them because of his holloween party where they had a poster touting the warriors losing with a 301 game lead.

Well that sucks. At least now chi can start waiting for another 108 years

Going to be a bit somber in the office this morning, but I don't think anyone could have asked for a more exciting Series.
