yes it is and I hope they find her safe and well soon too. they are saying she may have been taken for sale to a couple who are wanting a child. If anyone takes a baby or child that way they must be heartless.

It has been on our news all day long they said she is now an 'aguido' (meaning suspect) so as they can ask her 22 questions. I have always thought there was more to this story than meets the eye. as she has never been seen to cry, if it was one of my children missing I would act a bit different to her I don't think I could ever stop crying. When there have been children missing here before and you see their Mothers on TV asking for help they have always had tears and red eyes, not calm and collected as she has been. strange very strange, seems cold IMO anyway. I just hope she is proved wrong and they do eventually find Maddie safe, but that seem unlikly now it has been a long time.

I've only read headlines about this case from the beginning. I guess I figured to read the whole thing would distress me (I'm a coward like that).

Anyway, when I read the Mum was now considered a suspect, I went ahead and read the article...and discovered that Maddie's parents were at a cafe or something less than a minute's walk from where her children were sleeping.

My question...what in the name of heaven made those people think it was ok to leave those children alone while they ate at a cafe? And in a foreign country?!!!!! That doesn't track for me...not at all.

Alice - that is what I, and many other, have been saying from the start. How can you relax with friends around the pool bar eating and drinking while your children are in a room out of sight and hearing distance. Checking them from time to time is not enough, how long does it take a small child to choke, set light to something or do anything, they are Dr's for G sake they must have known this, I feel it is irresponsible of them. Hind sight is a wonderful thing, when I took my children away on holiday with me even in our own Country they were with me all the time. They would sleep in the stroller if we were out for any period of time, never would I let them at that young age be on their own. My thoughts would be what if they woke up in a strange place they would be scared, I could not have rested let alone eaten and drunk beer or wine. the thoughts don't bare thinking about. IMO......Chris.

Wow, that's some condemnation without knowing any of the facts. How it comes out is anyone's guess but let's try to keep an open mind until it does.

Let's be realistic here. If they don't find missing people within the first 48 hours the likely hood of finding them alive is slim to none. It does happen but it is rare. This girl is dead and has been dead since she disappeared. I think her parents had either been physically or sexually abusing her for years. Then they hurt her real bad and she perhaps accidentally died. They got scared and paniced and got rid of the body. That is what the Portuguese police seem to think as well.

Looks like I was right in that her parents or parent killed her. They found the kids blood in a rental car that her parents rented 25 days after her disappearance. To me that says that they had killed her, hid her body, and then when the heat died down somewhat they rented that car and moved her body to another location. Apparently they were sloppy in cleaning up as they found maddies blood in the car. According to the news they have now offered the mom a plea deal. She is claiming she/they accidentally killed maddie. Rush to judgement my foot. Anyone that has had any training in law enforcement could see from the very beginning who the suspects were.

I'm not gonna say it's all wrapped up just yet...at least from what I'm reading.

I have believed from the start something fishy was going on, as I mentioned before, but if she has done this henus crime, she sure has put on a front going around all of Europe asking people to look out for her, if it were a film she would deserve an Oscar, with that performance. but innocent until proven guilty.

Aren't her and her husband both Doctors by trade? Seems odd that if they accidentally killed her that they wouldn't have known how to help her medically.

I do think they did suffer from parental stupidity, leaving their 4 year old and twin 2 year olds sleeping home alone, is unheard of. They both should be charged with the death of their daughter, if they did it, not just the Mom.
