Does anyone know anything about that system I have it on a 92 ford f700 dump truck and im having some issues with the brake lines busting. :help: :help:

I bought the truck at a dealer near tide water a few years ago and i only use it for hauling dirt around the farm and apparently the salt water atmosphere has caused the brake lines to rust into so when i had 5 tons of lime on the truck and hit the brakes today i got a nice lil ride till remembered to pull out emergency brakes. I called dealer he said those brakes were the worst design ford ever did and then told me the primary and secondary line from the master cylinder are 196.00 each and they are only foot and half long and metal...WTF... i asked about replacing every brake line on the truck and he said it would be 978.00 in stupid metal lines and one plastic line.

Those trucks like that only bring 2000 to 3000$ around here. 978$ for lines would be hard to do, but if the truck is to good to scrap there's not a lot of choice I guess.

Yea truck has excellent motor and only 115,000 no other issues plenty of power just brake lines booo... I just dont understand how napa has premade lines that are 10 bucks and these lines are so expensive. Thanks Kingfisher I just gotta figure out the sizes. What makes this system a B.... is that i have 4 different size fittings for no good reason.

If you had the flaring tool and benders you could get the fittings and stainless tubing and build some that would last forever. A good brake line flaring tool is pretty expensive though.

I asked my mechanic who works for me about that and he suggested I try this place here well about 45 mins from me and take the fittings to them and ask them to make the whole systems break lines and see if they can do it in rubber. I didn't know but apparently thats where he goes to get stuff made. I guess I should be checking my bank statements more clearly cause I had not idea about them lol
