I have committed to buying a XR4046 LS tractor. Probably get beat up for admitting that here. I could get a lot more for my money.
Getting it for $24800.00 with loader, 6' grapple, front hay spear and hydrostatic transmission. Five year warranty. Also will have industrial tires, thought that would be the best way to go since it will mostly be used as a loader. Dealership is owned by a friend I have known for forty years and he will stand behind anything he sells.

I needed a 50 hp or so tractor and when I started looking found out none of the so called US brands smaller than 60 hp were made here. John Deere China.
New Holland, Case actually made by LS. Kubota made in Japan would have been fine, but out of my budget.

Evidently they were getting a bad deal from some of the vendors they were building for and decided to market in the US on their own about 6 years ago.
I didn't see any reason to pay thousands more for it to say NH on the side. I would have liked it though.
Now tell me now dumb I am....

I know a couple of people who bought new LS tractors, both bigger and with cabs. They have been very happy so far. If they are putting a 5 year warranty behind the product that surely says something. I ended up buying a used 2001 JD 5310 that was made in the USA. I couldn't afford new anything at the time but don't know if I could have pulled the trigger on a LS or not. I probably would have at least went and looked at them though. Good luck with the tractor!

I think I had posted on here about the LS tractor before and I checked them out seemed like a decent tractor in comparison to the tractors of its size from big named dealers it was just a couple grand difference here no real major price savings here. I like the color and how its built though. I hope you enjoy your tractor and keep us updated especially if there is problems.

I sold about twenty acres of timber to be able to buy it. Wasn't willing to cut more and I had made up my mind not to go thru another woodcutting season without a loader and a grapple. Back is getting too tired.

Sky,I figure if anyone has one you do. I would like to mount a rifle rack on the rop.
I see more things that need shot when I'm on the tractor than any other time. Probably my AR15. Any ideas?

I would not be afraid of Korean tractors if they have the dealer and service network.

My only concern with a off brand tractor is getting parts for them 10-15 years from now. I just sold a good tractor that was a Long brand because parts wasn't available locally u can order online but who knows for how much longer. I agree about the gun rack on the tractor great idea if u come up with one post some pics! Seems like everytime I have a gun I see nothing and every time I don't have one there are ground hogs following me around asking to get shoot :lol:

From what I have read LS has been making tractors for a long time. Also read that they are predicted to be in the top three tractor sales in the U.S. in a short time. I guess I will be the guinea pig on here. Wish me luck.. wait sky already did..
I'm always seeing groundhogs too. I have saw a couple of huge rats that I probably needed a cannon to kill.

Post a pic . Does it have a canopy? I just put my canopy back on my tractor it is steel and I am going to mount an old pickup roof gun rack on it.

I would like to have one but made my mind up next new will be a Kubota I hear a lot of good things about them. I keep my .17hmr on there I use to keep my ak-47 on there but shooting out a cabbed tractor with that once convinced me carry the .17

Price I have a long agribusiness tractor for my business when I needed parts I just drove to N.C. to pick them up you can also order direct. I haven't broke anything lately so I haven't made that trip in about 2 years or so.

We had the huge ice storm of 2009 and limbs are still falling, but it has slowed down a bunch. I have stacked brush till I am sick of it. Hence the grapple. I am hoping I will be happy as a lark stacking brush with it...

the pallet forks have been a challenge for me also. You should have a few forklift repair place in your town (we have 5 and its a small city) go buy there and talk to the managers. Do not tell them you want to use the forks on the tractor tell them you want to use the used ones to cut up and make reinforcing plates. OSHA has cracked down on them selling non compliant forks. I picked a set out of the scape barrel yesterday at one place and gave them 50 bucks for the pair. I also found a supply at our local scrap yard and they want 75 bucks a fork for them. I built my own frame and will update that thread tonight with pics of the pallet forks.

LS tractors have the skid steer universal mounts which I don't know anything about. But I think I can buy a bare plate and attach whatever I want???

Look at my redneck thread. From what I've seen on the skid steer QC you just get the plate to weld to what ever attachment you want.

I can't get the link to work right on my antique computer. Tried to use the dealer locator thing to see if there is a dealer in SD. I'm not aware of any.
