Lost wallet Monday and did stop the credit cards before any one used them. Waited until today thinking some one find it and call. Decided today to get a new driver license called and they said to bring in my birth certificate. Okay got the BC and went in and filled out the application. They looked at it and said your name on BC does not match what your license has on it. Now my mother has photo at one year old with my name spelled like the license and all of my documents with the same name as on my license when I was 14 years old. Tried to explain that all of my official documents had the name that was on my license. No they said you will have to use the name on the BC or I could have my BC amended. So went that way now I will have to find someone that is older than I am to notarize and say that that they have known that my name was spelled all my life as shown on my license. Well to have a license I agreed to the BC name. Then I was finger printed and gave them $11.50 for the new license. They said when you get the amended BC come back and we will do the same thing again. They said that the BC requirement has been in effect for about 12 months.

I'm thankful I've never lost any important documents.. I know my friend had to go through a lot of BS with his... it's sure a nightmare!

Why finger printed?
Also if you had just told them you were illegal you could have it any way you wanted.[/quot
Why finger print that is not something I can answer, but to get the licenses that is what was required. There was not ink involved just a small machine with a clear glass you place you four fingers of each hand on and the two thumbs separate. Had to do it four times so each finger is printed. I suspect the next time I vote after getting the amended birth certificate they will have the finger print reader there to make sure I am who I say I am. The clerks said that this is all a new procedure that has been put in place in the last year. Just wait everyone here in Texas you will be require to come in when you renew. Big brother in Texas is taking care on you.

Hurley I had my license renewed last summer. Everyone in the office was having to do the fingerprint thing. Must be SOP now. Mine are already on file with FBI so didn't bother me. Be sure and let us know what your "new name" is when you get this all settled.  :hide:

After 30 plus years of concrete construction, the electronic finger print machine didn't work very well on me. Ended up doing it with ink. :)

I would bet that you are practically un traceable.

I read on the internet that next year you will have to submit a DNA sample after 2016. Nah I did not read any thing of a sort just made it up. But would not surprise me at all.

Its hard to keep aliases straight.

Georgia has been doing this for several years now. They won't even accept a military id as proof of who you are. Their website says its valid but its not. Oh, and you best not use a PO Box for your utility bill.

Lots easier to got to Lil Mexico and for $100 you'll have a Florida drivers license and a social security card. Another $50 and you got your CDL license.

Can I borrow that dog? I've lost 3 knives and 2 cellphones in the last year.......all here on the place somewhere.

The two cell phones were problably driven over.. you'll never find them

The knives will be driven over, and you'll find them.. in your tractor tires!

I know all about cell phones being driven over--ran over one yesterday when I dropped it, backed away from the computer to pick it up and ran over it with my chair roller.
