I have a Brangus cow that is probably 6 months bred, yesterday feeding I saw her limping pretty good on her front feet. Got her in the pens and both front hooves were about twice as long as they should be. She was hurting pretty good because she laid down after she ate. I was gonna call the vet today to see what he says. I've seen the long hooves before but they never limped like that, didn't know if he was to trim them if they would keep growing back like that or just sell her now. Hate to do that, she is a good young cow. Any suggestions?

Forgot to add, she is on hard Texas ground with just pasture grass. Cubes once a week or so.

Call a hoof trimmer. They will be able to tell you best whether it is genetic or metabolic. Weave them all over out here because of the dairy cattle...
