Lockhart Tx area folks-balloon crash

Anyone heard anything new on this outside what is on the news?
Crash site looks to be right under high power transmission lines--did the basket hit them?
Balloon basket crash remains is lower center of picture:

Idk but LCRA said 2 lines were shorted out. You notice balloon is gone. I suppose lines to balloon had steel in them?

Heard a witness say the ballon was having trouble maintaining altitude.
Told the Mrs I bet they got into those high power lines running through there.
I run around Lockhart and Luling every hunting season, never realized that ballooning was popular there until I seen them several times.

Probably the case. Can't imagine how much lift it takes to get that many folks off the ground in a hot air balloon. I didn't know those baskets would hold over 3 or 4 folks.

same here. I guess tho, it depends how much heated air the balloon can hold and how hot it is compared to the denser outside air. Read about it in a USN school class on thermodynamics--something called Charles' Law, but the math was beyond my schoolin then and still is.
