A local gal made the top 12 on Nashville Star. The radio station just announced it. Her name is Shawn Mayer. Now I'll have to watch the show, never have before.
 
I have posted this before but--my granddaughter is in one of the videos of the first Nashville Star winner-Buddy Jewell. The song/video was Sweet Southern Comfort.

Hey i jsut watched that tonight. She did ok was about in the middle for performance. She works in a hog barn and is a part time mechanic so she gets my vote. Plus she is from iowa and a town of 45 peopel and i thought my town of 500 was small.
 
She rides a Harley so she is ok in my book. :D I actually thought she was pretty good. Not even Taylor Swift sounded good on that set. They have terrible acoustics there. I hope folks tell them and they do something about it.
 
I thought she did okay too. The guy that got voted off didn't do very well. I agree Taylor Swift sounded bad too, I'm sure live singing is a lot different than a studio that's for sure. She is one tough, hard working kid, I hope she makes a few rounds. She started singing in bars, etc when she was 15,16 years old.
I called in about 50 times, got through about 1/2 of that.
Somebody on here talked about a website that tracked American Idol calls. Anybody know the site??? I'm not very patient :D

Iowa, I don't know about that web site. The sounds coming from Am Idol are MUCH better. I guess Idol has more money to make it sound better.
 
Shawn Mayer is actually one of the best ones on the show. I think she and Melissa Lawson and Gabe Garcia are the only ones worth a toot. compared to previous shows, this season really sucks!! i dont know where they found the people or who picked them but besides the three i mentioned the others arent the least bit country, nor do they even try to be country! but anyway-- billy ray cyrus sucks as a host as well. they should have let Miley host it.

I've never watched the show before this year. I thought her first song was good, but second was bad. The two young girls were bad. I hope Shawn gets a ways...
 
Those little girls are NOT a duet. the one with the braces is a better singer, and she knows it, and tries to outsing the other girl. they would have better luck splitting up. the three sisters are ok.
