i went out yesterday morning an fed my old herd bull.then nephew called an said get ready to load him.so we pulled into the pasture an tryed to load him in the pasture.didnt work since he was full.so we decide to pen him in the corral.he went in the corral smelled a rat.an came running out.so nephew quickly ran him back in an shut the gate.quickly loaded him an off to the sale he went.was gonna watch him sale.but had a few things todo an he had sold when we got back to the sale barn.he weighed 1550lbs an brought .66 cents a lb.used him 3.5yrs an it cost me $500 for that time.not a bad deal at all.his replacement is out in the pasture so thats good.
 
he had lost prolly 300lbs over the winter an spring.plus he was running with prolly 60 cows.an he had just turned 7yrs old.an i had only been graining him for 3wks.
 
Sold an angus bull week before last, weighed 1910 and bought 74 cents. Wish those prices were true every year.

Our old herf bull likes to go for a ride. When we back the trailer up to a lot and open the gate, he'll just walk up and hop on, then turn around like he's saying hurry up. He knows what's in store.
