Lizard hunt first night report

We got on the water around 4, picked a likely spot where we had seen a nice size momma, and got set up. She was too spooky, so we move about 200 yds down to where 2 other ones were hanging out. Just as one was starting to get interested in the bait and move to it, a damn airboat comes up over the grass, does a doughnut withing 50 yds of the gator and flies off. All that spooked the gators, so we called it a night about midnight. S'posed to go back out tonight if the weather will let us

It seems to be a trend with the airboaters. I've lost chances with many good redfish by them doing exactly what you described.

Just got back in from this mornings hunt. Saw 2 whole gators over 20 miles or so of water. the weather ran us off the water. Slooowwwww start to our season so far.

Sloowwwww. Our phase is done until sept 12th when general opens up until nov 1. They're just too spooked right now
