Does anyone use one of the "Immobilizers" that is inserted into an animals rectum which generates a electromagnetic pulse (not a shock) which acts on the animals spinal nerves to "cancel" pain signals (and temporarily stops animal movement and all while it's inserted) to the brain?

We got one couple of weeks ago. Works like a charm...

We got ours this Month. It is the "Calm-Cow" brand that uses a stainless steel rectal probe. When you hold the probe in your hand and turn up the power setting, absolutely no shock or other sensation felt (at least by us).

We're getting to work the other half of our herd in next few days: annual vaccinations, horn measurements, etc. Will have more "results" of our experience that those are done. But, have high hopes to reduce chances for banged fingers, etc....lol.
 
I saw one demonstrated that looked like a little battery charger with two cables that had clips like on jumper cables-- one clipped on the tail near the tailhead and the other on the lip of the animal ( in this case an old bull)...It definitely worked...

Wasn't that pricey either- $199...
 
You folks have now opened yourselves to uncanny commentary by the guy with his hat pulled down to hard out in Texas.( I believe you know who I mean I forget his SN!! :( ) He thinks the idea is...well...fruity. :lol:

We have used a RAU 2000 IM for three-4 years now and swear by it. There are other good ones on the market. Safer for us and the animals walk away from a procedure as if nothing ever happened. Wouldn't be without one....excellent for AI also. Just keep the latex between your arm and the unit probe.
