But, aside from size, that's a dandy little heifer.
Be interesting to see what she grows into by weaning with that cross.
Cute as she she is and your mom being involved, you may just find out what she grows into as a 10 year old.

Yep......she is pure ugly. I think I posted her pic in an ugly cow thread a few years back. The funny thing is that she has never had an ugly calf. She has always had really decent calves (for Dexters that is). She has produced 6 or 7 calves that my mother has had no problem selling. I guess she will be on my parents place until she dies.

I have no clue what she plans to do with them right now. She has mentioned that she would like my 6 yr old to show the little heifer at the county fair. She had better start getting her on a halter before she gets much bigger.

Not only is she ugly (short, fat, dished face, buggy eyes, sickle hocked and sway backed) she knows how to use those horns. She is pint sized but keeps the big cows in line with those toad stickers. She ain't afraid to enforce her will on the bigger stock. She is also protective of her calves and milks well.

Yeah. Always easier when you get them halter aquatinted young if you can.
My nephew has a nice little bull or of his show heifer, he told me that the calf is the most "polite" calf that he's had.
He's right. I haven't had one like that in a long time, calf responds to the lightest pressure.
Should make him a lovely project steer too.
He usually starts throwing them on at about a week, depending on the calf.
Sure makes things easier as they grow.
I would love to see your daughter to start with such a nice little animal
