Now in the fifth year of a six-year, $78 million contract (one that will count for $17.6 million against St. Louis’s cap this year), Bradford is the owner of the the seventh-largest cap hit for any player in the NFL in 2014. Russell Wilson will make about as much this season (in terms of base salary) as Sam Bradford will by the end of the third quarter of St. Louis’s game against Minnesota in Week 1. This is suboptimal.

In those numbers probably lies the answer as to why Wilson won a ring and Bradford did not.

I would think as the biggest target on a field of 300 lb angry thugs, I would want a little money spread the offensive line to obtain as many of the best available as possible. But, I guess 78 million would buy quite a few operations and some very pretty nurses.
 
Well, it doesn't look like Bradford will play the first quarter, or any quarter, against any team .....

This doesn't not come as a surprise to me. This guy has a soft body and a soft personality but all the talent in the world. You have to have talent AND toughness to make it in the NFL. He hasn't had it from the beginning. But, I also agree with management in not drafting RG3 or a QB this past draft. Keep building a TEAM. We've seen stranger things happen here in STL (Kurt Warner miracle on turf, as I like to call it).

And in closing, BYE BYE BRADFORD. IT's been a mediocre run of blind hope.

Even "toughness" only last so long, Kurt Warner being one example.

About all it takes sometimes for a ACL. Just depends on where all the pressure is concentrated.
