Pops got me a belt lacer, for baler belts. Finished last years baling with some horrible belts. I was scared to think of the mess that would happen if they gave.

I went to my Deere dealer and was in shock after they told me how much a baler belt was. They and any and all my neighbors didn't have any scraps for me to splice mend my belts, so pops also got me a belt.(from USA belting)

Now come the headache of mending and replacing the belts. Is replacing a belt that hard?

I have one of those. Make doubly sure you cut the belts and get the laces perfectly square. I took the belts out of my baler and cut them the same length and then put all new laces. Also you will need a skiving tool and take a punch and seat the rivets individually one at a time (hit pretty hard). If all this is done correctly they work great as I had to learn myself. Here is a video to help.

Call this # 1-334-627-3348 Hammond Equipment Company and give them the model of your baler and he will send you belts with the ends already on. All you have to do is put them in which isn't hard and his prices are hard to beat. They will come to your door in a box. Check here before paying a stealer for their belts.

tie the new belt to the old belt after you unlace it. it will feed it around the rollers while removing the old one.

Yea it sure is a PITA to have to be climbing in and out the baler to get it in if a belt brakes.
