99 years and change. That's an awful long time to put up with humanity and our failings, but the sights she has seen don't compare to what she is seeing now CB..

I always love to talk to this generation at work. Being a real farming community, it's amazing to hear stories of the transition from farming with horses to farming with tractors and then farming with computer-equipped tractors. I remember one gentleman telling me about how all the old guys would complain about the price of horses being too high. And the stories about the depression are just fascinating.
Sorry to hear about your loss, CB.

One of the worst whippins I ever got was over a red mule. My grandma told me not to ride the mule off. Now this lady was born in 1880 and didn't have a lot of BS in her. For some reason I decided to fail the IQ test of the day and took off down the county road, big black mouth cur ran out spooked the mule that threw me in the road.
When I got back to the house no one was concerned with my health and safety only the mules. Shortly after we had a come to Jesus meeting.
She died never believing that we had put a man in space. She also had a Model T that I never saw driven in my entire life.
Something tells me that tale has an azz whoopin' in it somewhere too. :lol2: :lol2:Caustic Burno":2c4w2w5l said:TB I was well aware what it was for as neither of those generations had much play or room for misunderstanding when they spoke. Double jeopardy applied if a grandparent ,aunt or uncle had to straighten you out.
Someday I will have to tell you about Black Cat firecrackers a Dearborn heater and my grandmas living room,it wasn't pretty.
Got beat half to death with a Fuller hair brush those are tough brushes let me tell you. Have had repressed anger issues towards the Fuller brush company ever since.TexasBred":2xsxwzz8 said:Something tells me that tale has an azz whoopin' in it somewhere too. :lol2: :lol2:Caustic Burno":2xsxwzz8 said:TB I was well aware what it was for as neither of those generations had much play or room for misunderstanding when they spoke.
