I would think a baseball sized hail would hit the ground at around 120 mph. Though I love to hear rain on a tin roof I don't think I could take hail that size on a tin roof. That would sound horrendous.

Holy shyt! I’ve never seen hail like that and hope I never do. We had a storm blow through a few years ago with marble size hail with 30+mph winds. After a while listening to it beat up the house and garage, I started to get really concerned for the week old calf I had, that was standing in the open when it hit. They’re tougher than I gave them credit for, she was fine.
 
Slick that was about all that was on the weather today. Homes almost totally destroyed, cars that were destroyed and holes in the ground 6 inches deep where that stuff hit the ground. Unbelievable. Some said to have been as big as grapefruit.

Just quarter size hail on a tin roof is deafening.
 
Some years ago, there was a hailstorm news video at a Fort Worth festival of some kind--hail stones of about the same size seen in this thread. Amazing and scary to see as people ran for cover under tents and awnings.

Lot of lightning here before daylight this morning and some wind--no hail, but we got about 2 inches of rain.I did notice I have some corn leaned over in my garden. Lightning was bad enough that I went out early and counted the cattle.

That was the cinco de mayo festival. Hail about the same size. I could put my fist through a cousin's car windows. He was on a date and at the movie. His car was beat to pieces.
