Large lump from vacination

We recently vacinated our bull with LA200 for pink eye. After five days, we noticed a large, hard lump (about 4" x 4") where the needle was inserted. You can tell the spot is sensitive to the bull when it is touched.

Any idea how to prevent this and/or if we should be concerned? Appreciate any advice you can provide.

Don't worry about it. It may or may not go away. 4"x4" is rather on the large side. Most of the time they are not that large. LA200 leaves knots quite often. It don't hurt the meat as it will peel off with the hide. A lot of discussions here reguarding the same thing. Do a search on knots and you will find a wealth of info.

If you didn't divide it up, it's no wonder. That's the big drawback to LA200. On a large animal like a bull, you have to stick them so many times to get the dosage into them.

That's the main reason why in larger animals we went to Excenel. Had a big old cow with fotrot last year that needed what seemed like a quart of LA-200. She'ld alwasy been a pet and wanted her neck rubbed. After that she'ld turn tail and run if I touched her neck.
