This bull looked as thick and powerful of any Hereford I had ever seen. He was on display in Denver. Anybody used him? Does he have a pedigree to have a good udder on his daughters?

You're right about that. Besides being thick and powerful there is a lot of good to say about him. He was deep bodied and well balanced, long bodied and had good correct feet and legs.

I liked him.

I hate to admit this, but I liked him better than QLC Lagrand Forum - The champion Angus right next to him in the display.

We had a maternal half brother to him in our herd for 2 years. When his daughters started freshening he went to the sale barn. The daughters that are good, are very good. The daughters that are bad, are very bad. Granted, our bull's sire was Victor breeding, but I don't know if our problems came from the sire or dam side of our bull.

I have seen the LaGrand Reload bull before and thought a lot about him. 2/3 interest and full possession sold in this past years Denver Mile High Night sale for $86,000.00. I know that Ted Hunt was one of the buyers that bought into Reload and the reason he bought into Reload was because he liked the Wideload calves A LOT. Actually, I bought a cow from him that he flushed her before he bought her to Wideload. So, Reload is really going to fit well in Teds Herd.

As far as progeny, I haven't seen any, but there are a few calves at JJ Detweilers in Ohio that were born just last month. Ted said that they are really showy and he told me that Reloads dam has a real good milker with a great udder and nice correct teats. So, I would use him, but only on cows. He is not a heifer bull. :cboy:

Hi Hill Creek Farm. I know Ted, we bought Ted's herd in 2001. He's built back up since then with some really good stock. He knows his cattle. I didn't know he bought into Reload. He owned Reloads dam for a year or so. I had heard she died. She has a twin sister that Lagrand's also own.

Ted is a really good individual guy. I bought his SSF Keysha 956 cow this past Fall. She is my favorite of all cows and I am selling a flush right in her in the Buckeye Hereford Sale this year. Can't wait till then!
