we have a kuhn fc300g(gyro mount). anyways it has a reversible pto shaft for 540 and 1000. my nephew says that if we hook the tractor 1000 pto to the mower 1000 input we only have to run it little over half throttle because the mower is still set at 540. ive tried to tell him that we would have to hook the tractor 1000 to the mower 540 to have that effect. im just kind of guessing but i think their must be some kind of gearing in the mower that is designed so you can run the tractor at the correct rpm with either the 540 or 1000 output shaft when hooked up to the same mower input. sorry if this is a little confusing but im hoping somebody has some knowledge about these.
