Has Kit come up with some slick way to market cows.

He says he has cattle that do well on grass. They do not require grain to maintain. But I am not sure what kind of carcass you are getting. I looked up the carcass EPD's to see how they are doing on grass and nothing has been recorded in REA, IMF $B. When I start looking back further in the pedigree(way back in some), I start finding where the bloodlines had REA measurements. Some are in the negatives and below average. But they do pusch the tenderness gene and the ability to maintain their ability to maintain on grass.

I watched it of RFD-TV and saw many sloppy hips, rear legs, hocks and rear fetlocks. Some hips and rear legs were really bad that you could trace the bones lines and when the bulls walked, they swayed like a woman walking down a runway. I turned it off after the 15th bull.

I saw about 5 sell and questioned the whole thing. Our cattle were low input cattle the year of our drouth. I really dont feel that mine looked that bad. I guess somebody likes the program...... or do they? It sounded like the whole thing was done over superior and not a live sale (with buyers present).

I did not see the sale but I did E mail Kit with some questions. He said don't buy my bulls if you are not keeping replacements - - because our main focus is to produce efficient mother cows.

I have some bwf that would fit his description. They don't have the muscling of the continental crosses or the size of most modern angus - but they have great dispositions and are easy keepers.

Don't know him or the program beyond what I've read, but anyone who can say "don't by my bulls if . . . " at least believes in their own program enough to be self limiting. He knows who he is and he knows who he ain't.
