well my great nephew is here for the weekend.an he loves riding the tractor,he can ride it day an nite.when he got here yesterday he just had to go for a ride.an he has already rode it twice this morning.

A brush hog behind a tractor might get you shot in this country!

The fields and trees are as bad as gasoline. You couldn't go 2 minutes without starting a fire.

Some fool got a chain hanging loose and started 11 mini fires going down the road 3 1/2 miles.
 
ive got shredding todo an thats why i wont do it.to dry an might burn the place off.an thats why to that we wont cut anymore hay till fall.

I do not allow children on my farm equipment period. If I catch my tenant letting his kids on it he will be finding a new place to live.
 
I also won't let kids on the quad. It has a sticker on it that you can't ride if under 16 years old. Father said that he didn't care about the sticker. I said it didn't matter what he cared about, my quad and my rules.
 
well this 1 sitts like a statue when he is on the tractor.not to mention he is in a bear hugg.an soon tobe in a seatbelt.
 
Bigbull I am sure your nephew is quite safe with you . I'm glad he has the opportunity of riding on the tractor with you. He will remember this forever.
Sort of reminds me of when I was little and they would bring hay in piled high on a wagon. I would "set up a tune" to ride on top. When they put me up there it was kind of scary it was so high but I was not about to let anybody know that I was afraid. It was very much an adventure for a little boy.

For those older than dirt- remember how much fun it was to ride on the running board of cars/trucks and on the fender? I am thankful to have known those days.
 
if i didnt think he was safe with me i wouldnt dare let him ride with me.he will grow up in the big city so i want him to love coming to the farm.an i want him to have the memories of me doing that with him.when he is here he gets up wanting to go for a ride.its priceless to watch him go for the spare key,when the main key is in my pocket.
 
Where are the pics BB ?
You are good great uncle, if kids are taught to respect machinery ,quads etc at an early age, they more than likely are not the ones that get hurt by them later on. :nod:

i think the same way HD,when he rides with me he enjoys looking around.an he gets a kick out of the dog following us as we go.he loves the loader joystick,but he knows its a no no with me.neices took the pics but have yet to add them to my FB.
 
Little HOSS loves riding the tractor. I have a cab tractor which allows him to ride safely with me. On other hand he has rode with me on open tractors like I did with my dad. He rides with me on my quad all over the farm. He is not quite 4 yrs old but he knows all of the tractor brands and the difference between a backhoe, trackhoe, farm tractor, track loader and bulldozer.

well izzy will be 2 on the 25th,an he loves tractor big riggs an heavy equipment.everytime he sees the heavy equipment he wants to stop an look at it.the county has their kub tractor parked by our place.an lil izzy seen it an started trying unbuckle his carseat so he could go for a ride.we have yet to get him on the 4 wheeler.
 
Here is one of my hardest workers. He is still learning about tractors, but he enjoys riding with his Beba.

:) Thats GREAT! My cuz came in from Boston, she had to drive my Ma's John deer! She was Super 'Xcited! She really just wanted to sit on it, but my Ma's said she could drive it if she wanted to. I don't like 4-wheeler for kids they are unsafe. I believe 2 wheels are better that is why I dirt bikes! :)

Even though I drove tractors in the field starting about 8 yrs, I have to beg y'all to be extra careful with kids on tractors and 4 wheelers. Man that stuff is dangerous. I did it because our little farm needed my labor, but If y'all are putting them on big machines for recreation...I understand but bad things can happen in an instant. Take care. I hate to be a nanny, but you wear a helmet on that dirt bike, Barbie gal.
 
Heck yea helmet! I may have short and boots on which is stupid, but I FOR SURE have a helmet! My mama didn't raise no fool! ;-) I think it all depends on how people are raised to what they are safe on. If they are mature and somebody teaches them the right way to use things they can. They can learn young and do it safely without getting hurt. If parents or whoever just let the kids go without being responsible that is a different story. Safety first! :)
