I ate there in the early 90's, when we went to the National FFA Convention. I had wondered if it was still open. I hate that u had a bad experience.

agree completely
spent most of my living near Omaha, NE and there are much better steak houses there that are much much cheaper
and the food is much much better

Diehard sorry to hear that especially since it was one of the places I recommended. Did you eat anywhere else in KC that you did or did not like?

the food at Hereford House wasn't bad, it just wasn't as great as i expected, except for the cheddar ranch potatoes, with that said when the tater is the best thing at a steak house something is wrong. I just expect that when i pay that much i get a little wow factor and it wasn't there.

Unfortunately i was with a group of people and i didn't get to choose the other places to eat. I'm still kicking my self for that.

You can bet the house on it that if i go back Gates and Golden Ox will be on the list.

We did eat at the CheeseCake factory (Women of the groups choice) it was OK

I used to eat at the Golden ox every so often and it was always great.
