Got our calves weaned and weighed today - 2 or 3 weeks later than usual - ave age 217 days, steers averaged 789 with a top of 954 and heifers averaged 737 with a top of 843.

Been trying to get some pics up but not succeeding :-(

I'm not posting this to brag but there were a few who "doubted" my kill weights at 17 months so thought if I shared my weaning weights they might see how I do it - although they probably wont believe these either :D

Will keep trying on the pics

cheers

good grass is something a lot of us only heard about this year.

Weaning weights weren't good, no grass, no milk and didn't get around to creep feeding.

Until june & July we must have gotten either more or less rain then you. Last year was wet and thr weaning weights were pretty low, this year was more or less normal till the rain shut off in june and july then 10 inches in 3 days in august and weaning weights were back up were we expect them to be.
