Those are some good heifers that are fit for the environment of southeast Texas. Grow them out, AI to a low birth weight bull for the first calf and then use a Charolais or continental bull of your choice to have some heavy calves to take to the sale.

I looked at them back in May and agreed to buy them. Supposed to be 6-8 months old right now, but I think the smaller one is about 5 1/2 at the oldest. They didn't grow as much as I thought they would since May, but they'll do. He had a lttle 8 month bull calf I tried to buy in M ay but he hadn't made up his mind then, tried again yesterday, but he's going in his freezer. A shame--that sucker has gotten BIG and his sire is a beautiful bull. all beefmasters.
Gotta get out there and vaccinate this morning when the drizzle stops.
 
Look good. I like those Beefmaster's. I bought a couple of Angus/BM cross heifers last year and am very excited to see how their calves turn out.
 
They look like there is a fair amount of spread in their ages.
I bet by the time they're ready to breed they'll be more uniform.
I bet by the time they calve you'll be very happy. :nod:
 
Can't take credit for finding them. CB used his nose to locate 'em out in the middle of the pineywoods and eyes to see them. I drove over, met CB in May and he led me thru the Big Woods to see his cattle too. (I doubt I could find his place again if I had to.)

I don't understand the leg issue these are Beefmasters most everything with Brahman in them are going to be more leggy, saw a post on here some time back for a Brahman cross heifer and someone said her ears were to long. Some things just goes with the breed , be kind of like saying a Herford skould not have a white face.
I like these heifers alot they would fit right on some I got
