judging cattle

Who on here judges cattle in 4-H? this was my first yr. as a Senior and boy was i scared... i did good but had to give reasons to the guy that taught me how to show. and that scared me even more... but he said i did better that anyone eles...

I do 4-H livestock judging and I love it!! This year and last year I won 1st overall Jr. at the South Florida Fair.

I've done it since I was in ~6th grade. (Ahh that makes me feel old)

I do it for FFA. I got 2nd overall for three districts, 3rd for our district after (slipping up a bit) and I'm waiting for State results. They penned the cattle where you couldnt fully see their side and they were cramped in there. No way to do a linear eval no way no how. You spent about 10 of your 15 minutes trying to get them to move so you could mark down which was 1-2-3 and 4. :roll: I dont think I did too good.

I judge for both 4-H and FFA. I have had my championships in both devisions, also some very bad loses. Its your OPINION against someone elses opinion. You never know how the actual judge judged them
