Well said. I have two pet peeves. One is any regulation that inhibits our ability to pursue business ventures that create jobs via knit-picky rules that damper one's incentives to take the risk. The second is when people think the government should provide them a living for whatever reason - other than being truly needy. I have more respect for humans than this and think God has put us here to glorify and improve the world he created. This point has been a sore subject with me lately as I recently heard a woman brag her son finally being old enough to get "his own check".

What in the heck is that all about? How many people do you know that would turn down an inheritance? Would you? Someone in the family makes a business deal and then passes the benefits on to other family members. So what? It was earned by someone. The issue is freeloaders - where no work was performed by anyone other than the tax payer. C'mon now!!!!

Well said A/B. But there is a glimmer of truth in Frankie's post cause sorriness can be found on either side of society. You got some trust-children like Paris Hilton who have only accomplished one thing in their lives - that being the fastest swimmer. In my opinion, it would be a wild stretch of the imagination - or even better - I think you'd have to be on a wild LSD trip - to ever try and throw ol CB in this group. He is frugal and he works. He might even work when he may not have to. :tiphat: But maybe the reason he works is that he loves his children enough that he wants to leave them with an easier life than what he had. That is not a sin. This should be commended not criticized. OR, maybe he works to try and build back what his parents left him. Afterall, if you own much land at all, Sam is going to get 55% of what you worked for all your life. Oh, let's not forget the state. Here, they get 6%. So 61% of what you acquired in your lifetime is taken to administer our many generous programs. Let's just hope someone appreciates the gesture and spends it wisely.

On the other extreme, you got those folks of every color, sex, nationality and religion that just aren't going to work unless they are made to. Some even go so far as to get their children on Ridlin so they can get a bonus check of $800/month from Social Security cause their children are "handicapped". (We have a woman in my county who has 6 children on this program :mad: ) And when we go to retire and social security is bust - guess who you can thank. This is wrong. This is cruel. This is not love. This is not help. To think otherwise isn't even rational.

Now I do believe in helping people. I think it is our obligation to help people who hit hard times. But just as with cattle, at some point you got to wean them cause you can't bottle feed them all their lives.
