Ok so if anyone has been following my other post i'm shopping for a new tractor. We currently have three year old JX80 case that is a complete lemon and is too much of an economy tractor for my liking. We have 80 acres and run cattle and haying operation. The tractor will only be used for breaking ground occasionally and mostly for haying. We have a terrible dealer in case so thats out of the question. The JD dealer is a big dealer and the NH is very small. We priced out a JD 5095 with deluxe open, 38"radials, 16x16 with pwr reverser for 44,000. I am impressed with the dealer and its a good price I shopped it around. We went over to the Nh dealer to price out a baler and now he is trying to sell us a nh tractor. I am giving him a shot but with our experience with the case I am skeptical to say the least. The problem is he doesnt have any T5000 series in stock and none are close by to look at. I was impressed with how beefy the Nh Td5000 series looked compared to the deere but the td is the economy model. I am pretty much sold on the deere and the fact that I cant see the new holland model makes it a hard sell. I also seen the 6000 deere and nh tractors but they are to big and heavy for our operation. This is going to be our only tractor so a tractor as big as the 6000 wont work for early fertilizer and late baling in our wet fields. There are a few things that Jd has going for it with the separate 540 and 540e ptos and the better trans standard. Now the Nh t5050 is a lot beefier looking and weighs about 1,500 lbs more. Now the Nh dealer said he found a T5050 with a cab and the big radials I want for only 46,000. Now for that price I would consider a cab. Jd told me its 9,000 more for the cab. He said that for some reason the dealer he can get this from bought alot of these tractors and got a huge discount thats why its so cheap. Anybody that has any thoughts on these two tractors would be appreciated. Thanks Mike.
 
Angus Cowman found me a NH5060 with cab, 4x4, 12x12 trans, shuttle shift and loader last week for 48,000 so what you found is not a great deal.
Only problem we wanted a 24x24 and that seems a little harder to find.
Did you look at a Kubota? If you are not doing a lot of tillage you might be impressed.
 
Really I thought that was cheap. The one he told us about it 4x4 also which I want. He said the loader would only add a few thousand since it already had the brackets and controls inside. I told him to look for a 5060 to see if that helped the search. If you dont mind me asking did you buy it and if not where did angus find it. I didnt think these nh were that much cheaper than a deere thats why I thought it was a good price. Thanks kenny. I should just give you and angus a check and tell you guys to get me equipment.
 
You might look at the JD E series. I got a 5093E a while back and haven;t found anything about it I don;t like yet. Having a hard time getting used the the reverser on the column though
 
I am sure they have went up a bit but a year or so ago you could get the 5050 with cab 4x4 and a loader for around 44000.00 So 48,000 sounds about right for the 5060.
 
So I just went to see a neighbors 5070 with the dealer so I could see the setup. I was impressed with the size of the tractor but deere definitely has a lot nicer cab. It has mechanical shuttle, 34" radials, the loader brackets, and cab. The price he came down to 45,000. Thats without a loader though. The only thing I can figure is the dealer he is getting it from is tacking on some profit for himself. But for only 800 dollars more than the deere with open station I feel like I gotta buy the NH since it has a cab. My thinking is it really just the green paint making the deere 8,000 more for the same specs or is it really that much better of a tractor. Thanks dun but the e series makes me nervous since our nightmare with the economy model on the case. So the rest of you guys think this price is really 6,000 higher than it should be considering it doesnt have a loader.

Ok so I think i'm gonna go sign the papers on the new holland monday. Two of my neighbors who are lifetime farmers said I would be crazy not to buy the new holland with a cab for only 800 more dollars. They both have JD and NH tractors and said for the cab difference and the fact that the nh weighs 1,500 more you cant go wrong. I'm still on the block kinda but thats because I was certain I wouldnt even consider another cnh tractor. I'll just listen to more experienced guys than me and get the Nh. So it will be T5050 cab, 4x4, 34" radials, mechanical shuttle 12x12, loader prep kit of brackets and joystick. Final price 45,000. Thanks guys. I'll cross my fingers on this tractor.

Oh and I called two other dealers in pa to see if they had anything in stock since my dealer didnt. I told them the price I got and that the dealer had to get it from far away. They got back to me with prices that were 5,000 higher and then said they would have to find one around the country or order one. Are all equipment dealer that dense in other parts of the country. I guess sales guys just dont listen when you talk.
