There are some people who are just lucky. I think that is undeniable. I once worked with a guy who never bought lottery tickets but one day his boy was sick and he asked him to buy him one. $21 million. There were so many other things that just fell in his lap that beggared belief. BTW - I don't think he even worked his two week notice out for the company.
