well i was looking at CL and i came accross this heifer for sale.looked at the pic and there was sale barn tag on the heifer

There are two barns within approximately 60 miles of each other here. I'm right between the two. Not uncommon to see cattle at the Mon. sale wearing tags from the Sat. sale.

here you are not suppose to resale before you have had them for 30 days, at least that is what the brand inspector told me, when I was trying to back track a heifer I bought privately that was branded
went threw the sale , could not see a brand when I bought her , the kid I got her from could not find his brand inspection and he had only had her for 2 days

the thing is most cattle traders that i know will pull the barn tags off of them.i know guys that own 3 barns and they will catch cattle back from a sale and then haul them back to their other barns.

I see that all the time around here. This one guy buys a bunch of pairs and heavy bred trash cattle sometimes peels the stickers off sometimes doesn't and always leave the number the vet painted on her when he checked the cow.

I have bought a trailer load of Heavy Bred, found one was a fence jumper, and took it to the next sale. I could have taken the tags off but don't.

Wasn't trying to profit by trading. Wasn't trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes. Think I lost $40 on the last one.

Hope you don't think I was on the defensive.

Seems folks were assuming that idiots were trying to take advantage of idiots or markets.

I bought a problem cow. She looked great. Must have been some deer in her genes somewhere. My mistake.

I suspect she would have stayed in the pasture once she calved. She was guestimated to be 2 months out from calving. She had a fetish for my neighbor's place. Saw her go over three good fences while trotting over there.

I absolutely did not buy her to resale.

She turned out to have an attitude when I got her in the working pens and behind the cut gate. The type that could hurt someone.

I hope she is hamburger somewhere.
