its so dry here

Its so dry here that when the cows fart it creates a dust storm. Holy moly we need some rain. This is the driest I've seen it here since we moved in back in 04. This is getting crazy

Heard a commotion at the back door this morning and looked out and saw a bunch of ducks lined up getting water from the spigot. I think the commotion was when a black mallard broke in line.

I would say no moisture at all here - but there was that calf that had scours last month. Does that count? It more than doubled the moisture for the pasture that month.

If not its getting pretty close. Lady asked me to burn two acres for her last week. I declined and told her it was too dry. She didn't like my answer and got someone else to do it for her. He burned her two acres and 200 more. Its amazing how a fire burns when its dry as can be and is being pushed by 18 mph winds. I was five miles away and ash was landing on me. Seeing the billowing soot black smoke boiling up from the horizon gave me a little chuckle cause I think ignorance should be painful.

Yep it is dry. Not much of prescribed burning this year. How's that go? Life is hard....it is even harder when your stupid! Funny thing is that lady liable to think you lied to her when that 200 acres comes back looking good next year.

Not a chance. When the smoke looks like a mountain of tires burning ain't much going to survive the blaze. Burned for two days. Besides, it wasn't her land just all of her neighbors and some. I'm thinking that she might be thinking I ain't as dumb as I look. If not today, she will be when the attorneys get finished with her. Of course you probably have her pegged cause she will probably blame me for not burning it for her.

We could sure use it but we have a good chance come Sunday thru Tuesday. I'd hate to borrow your rain. Unlike everything I borrow, I doubt I'd give that back. Thankfully the trees haven't started transpiring much yet but once they do they will suck us even drier really fast. If we go into the spring dry chances are the drought will feed on itself and we will have a long year. Not the thing we need. Especially this year of all years.

Didn't need it last year or want it this year or next......BUT... :( I'm optimistc I'm right it's going to be another crappy year.

Just think about it a little...(won't work everywhere) but for here, I could go to vegas and bet no rain everyday of the year and maybe be wrong 10% of the time...better average than the sophisticated weather doctors and their average of getting it right. :lol:

What worries me more than anything is the jeweller that I by my wife's jewellery at is offering to give you all your money back for your engagement ring if it rains on your wedding day. Don't won't to step on any toes here but you know who most jewellers are and how tight they can be so I guarantee you he knows something or he wouldn't be offering this deal.

Wonder if that speaks for the quallity of the jewels or the markup.,,

He would have had to pay up for my nephew a couple years ago...We were supposed to fly into Jacksonville but had to reroute into Tampa then follow up behing Gustove (think it was Gustove might have been Faye) to get to Gainesville...But it did stop raining about 30 minutes before the wedding...

Jewells are good quality but the fine print is "up to $3000 and must be at least 1" of rain". I think he's got his bases covered quite well from the looks of things this year. With my luck I'd get 9/10's. :lol2:
