But here's the most disturbing part: The animal in question was found in November — seven months ago. Lab technicians in Iowa performed two tests that were negative. Another test came back positive, but the results were ignored because the testing method was experimental, as the Chronicle's David Ivanovich noted Saturday.
That sounds like a good story but don't you think if there was some doubt, they should have done more detailed testing using the 'Western Blot' test which is the standard that most countries use.
