It's a small world

I went 1st thru 4th grade in Kenai, Alaska back in the 60's. Finished HS here in TX. A girl I went to elementary school with (in Alaska) married a guy I went to HS with (in Texas). Their son worked here one summer in my group as an intern.

It is still hard for me to believe this

My mom is from Eden, VT, which is a very small town (about 300 people them) in the middle of nowhere. She went to college at the University of Illinois (followed my father there, high school sweethearts). This was 1972, so they still had house mothers for the women. The woman was looking at my mom's info and said "Oh, I see you're from Eden. And you're a Huntley. Yes, I know your family and where you live." Turned out that she had a summer cottage there and had been going to Eden for decades. That must have been a dull year.

I graduated from HS on Okinawa. I ended up in Kansas, and had a friend who was an attorney in Olathe, Ks. After knowing him a few months, met his wife and discovered she graduated one year ahead of me on that remote island!

I had something happen like that just last week, met a guy here in Alabama that lives in Georgia, his daughter married a guy I race with that lives in Missouri. What the he//?

My brother and his wife got married in their 40's. They have always said they got along so good they must be cousins. They recently found out that our grandmother and her great grandmother both came from the same very small town in Finland. They may very well be related by more than marriage.
