My jersey finally calved... A 30 pound Heifer on Feb 28th. One day before her due date. Mom and baby are doing just fine.

Congrats!! Hey...are you sure that isn't a pic from my place this past Sat? My Jersey looks just like that, her calf(was a bull, now a steer) just as dark, with the same pallets! Hope they do well for you.

Thanks... The cow is purebred jersey... the calf is half highland half jersey. I am getting about a gallon and a half of milk out of the cow after the calf has had her fill.

Man, oh, man. I would love some of that Jersey's milk. I'd get my wife to make some great oyster stew with it. (If I didn't drink it all first.)
 
She's a keeper! If reincarnation exists, I would like to come back as one of your animals! (obviously well taken care of! Good work!)
 
Cute calf-I used to milk a Jersey and man that was some great milk. I keep telling myself that when I retire from my day job I'm going to get another Jersey for the table. Just don't have the time to do it now.
