My brother was telling me that one of his neighbors who owns a dairy can get heifers to milk simply by giving them shots of lutalyse. He says if the heifers don't catch after a few times of being cycled, they will actually begin to produce milk without ever having a calf. Of course they ship those heifers as soon as they dry up. Has anybody heard of this before?

Is he just giving them lute or is he giving them BST too?

Not sure. The story was second hand, told to me while I was injecting my heifers to make sure they weren't bred. Just thought it was kind of interesting.
