My old iPhone battery got to where it would not hold a charge. I can’t remember exactly how much I paid for the phone that is I think around 4 years old now. It’s a promax13 I think.
When I would put it on the charger it would charge to occasionally 100 % a lot times to like 85% and with in 7 or 8 hours without much use drain nearly all the way down.
There is a place that I was told could replace the battery. It cost me a $ 141 to get it replaced. First thing out of the gate the new battery was doing the same thing with the exception of getting a pop up message saying the phone had a replacement part that was not an apple component. And not holding a charge just like before I paid the $ 141 to have the battery replaced. Man you talking about mad ! I guess it was a good thing I picked the phone up Friday evening just as the store was closing for the weekend because I know my alligator mouth would have got my hummingbird behind in some serious trouble from telling that store manager just what I thought about that new $ 141 battery and the message saying it wasn’t the battery called for the phone they had put in it.
Over the weekend I had time to cool my heels a little bit. Done some things I had read to and try to fix it. Time passed on into the next week and I had cooled off and decided to use a calm
approach and go back to the place that had replaced the battery. Had already determined I was fixing to have to get another phone.
Kept researching the best I could to trouble shoot what might could be the problem. When some how for reasons unknown. I open the phone and have an automated message saying your new battery replacement process has not yet been completed ? Well ? How about that ? The message also said press enter to complete the installment so i did.
You know I think the phone battery holds its charge better now than when i bought it new. I thought i would pass this on in case someone else happens to start having iPhone battery problems. My phone I think is between 3 and 4 years old. Think I might have ran over it once with the round baler tire. Cracked the glass around the camera lens. And have replaced the screen saver on it and the camera lens covers. Carrie it in my overall front bib top pocket most of the time. Have lost it no telling how many times. But it’s still working as good as the day I bought it new. Read that it could last up to 7 years.
So if the battery starts giving you problems after 3 or 4 years. And you have to replace the battery. Do rip the phone shop repairman right off the bat is the moral of my story.
What that message to complete the installation was. Was to replace the program that was in it with a different version. The old version I didn’t have to enter an access code every time like I do with this new version that I don’t like having to do. But I guess it’s cheaper than buying a new phone.
