Daughter is now competing. She went to her first IDPA competition and did well. She placed 4th overall woman, but her problem is she ranked sharpshooter and from what i'm told its a hard class to get in and out, and after 4 months of shooting, she's doing pretty good to have gotten ranked there to start with. Her husband is going to his first, not sure what he is classified, but its pretty high. He had no plans to compete, but figured he'd give it a go. Both shoot at Bill's. Bill's team guys blew everyone out of the water at the IDPA competition..

SS is the middle class. They go Master, Expert, Sharpshooter, etc.
I have a Wilson Combat 1911 and it has never failed to feed, fire or eject. That is why they cost about $3K. I also have a Les Baer. Same can be said for it. I think the Les Baer is tighter. Not always a good defensive pistol property. You mainly want the thing to go bang every single time without any worries. I had several Kimbers and sold them all when they would eventually fail that standard.
You say they shoot with Bill. Do you mean privately at his property or when he is at a shoot?

CG8, if it is easy for you, would you please ask your daughter and SIL what Make and Model they are using to shoot IDPA. If they are shooting with Bill Wilson, I take it for granted that they are using some Make and Model of 1911 45 ACP. I would go further and guess they are shooting one of his Models of Wilson Combat 1911 pistol.

I would love a Wilson 1911 but a Colt enhanced 80 series will have to do for now.
She's getting a pretty awesome gun. Custom made by their best gunsmith. Will even have her name engraved into it. I'm not a gun person at all, but i'm surrounded by them. She was telling her dad that the trigger is custom and i might remember it wrong but has a 2 1/2 pound pull...Does that sound right? Whatever it is, its hard to get it that way and will give her an advantage..
