I posted this link on another site, the person talking is Bruce Vincent, he gave an incredible presentation to the AAA meeting in Louisville a week or so ago, I encourage you all to watch this. I appreciate Eric Grant's work with the 'I am Angus' series, it makes some good steps towards making our own positive news message to our customers (of beef especially) that can start to undo the anti-ag activism of the past 3 decades. I see this as complimentary in how we think in making the connection with folks who are so far removed from the production end of the food chain that we need to be able to speak their language.
 
Boston ranch is about ten miles from me. They bought two bulls from me at the big sale last year and an uncle of mine worked there for years.
What Marty failed to mention in his monologue about how great ranching is for the environment is J.G. Boswells(the owners of Boston Ranch) plan to start a housing development right in the center of the ranch... There isn't enough water, there is no electricity, there is barely a road...But all of that will be fixed for the right price.
I've always liked Marty and don't blame him at all as he's an employee but it's hard to listen to him talk about how ranching is so good for the wildlife etc, etc, when the ground he's standing on would have already been paved if the economy hadn't caved.
