Wondering what thoughts are on insuring cattle, especially at today's value. Do you do it, why or why not? What is generally covered if you make a claim?

I don't insure individual cows, but my farm policy has blanket, if I lose a large number at once.

it is kinda pricey, usually folks will only insure a high dollar bull or donor cow, I have had a few insured for 7-10K before , only collected on one bull that went down though.I would say your farm owners coud have a provision for loss a more than one head, in the event of lightning strike or fire, ect,,,
