I'm working on a deal with someone that would necessitate insuring a handful of animals against their untimely demise.

Any idea on the best company(ies) to contact to get reasonably priced insurance for something like this?

If it matters, the animals will be in Kansas.

Thanks.

Might just check with whoever your farm insurance policy is with.

You might also check with one of the companys that puts on registered sales. The hsould have insurance companys that they deal with. When I've bought long distance cows we had the sale outfit arrange insuarnce for shipping.

Keep in mind that generally speaking, farm liability insurance policies do not cover mortality of an animal, unless that policy is endorsed with mortality. Be sure to read the insurable causes of mortality, as some of them only insure for accidental death (ex: hit by car).....and how the animal will be valued if a claim were to arise.
