I am strongly considering the purchase of a "HAY SAVING" feeder for big rounds. You know. The feeders with an inner cage and an outer cage. Prevents cattle pulling hay out of the bale and onto the ground.
If you use one of these, how about posting your observations.

I have two of them and they work great if your hay has not been stored outside on the ground so that the bottom has rotted some. The rotten hay will clog it up.

I have one for about 5 five years and it works good , I feed haylage bales , sometimes in the winter when they are froze they don't feed out as good but other than that it works fine.
