My heifer has had an infection in its back hock for quite awhile. The vet has drained it once and I have drained it 3 times since. I have tried LA Liquamiacin and Penicillan but can't seem to clear it up. Any suggestions.

Bruce, I am dealing with a similiar problem in the jaw of one cow. A large lump, when lanced and drained, appears to be bacterial. Once lanced, flush the cavity with a hydrogen peroxide, iodine solution cut 25 to 50 percent with water. Use a large syringe, no needle, and flush the interior four or five times with the solution. The key is to keep the infection site open to drain an flush daily with disinfectent.
