I am a Inconsiderate Hubby... No my wife did not say that but after our convo at the dinner table I feel that way. My wife and I started out hanging out and I would take her predator hunting at night deer hunting some. 3 years ago we brought the new year in by predator hunting. Sadly I have not asked her to go since then. That night was so cold and she was shivering so bad I felt bad and didn't want to make her suffer like that again. Tonight she was asking me about hunting I was talking about it and she goes you know there was a time you asked me to go predator and deer hunting alot... I felt so bad and didnt know what to say. We did go coon hunting the other night and I got 1 coon. I guess I took for granted she liked stuff like that I guess I should ask ever so often. My plans are now to build a 10x10 raised blind somewhere at the house or on my grandmothers property so that way I can have the kids/ wife even grandma in there with heat and just share hunting experiences together as a family.

As it happens I'm sitting in a vacant house with central heat and air and running water tonight predator hunting, it's 20 and 10 inches of snow outside, and I'm in here with it 63, my electronic call is about 40 yards away and on a remote control.

Yea, I am heavy into predator hunting I am trying to find which night vision scope I want. We have an increasing population of coyotes here that I will continue to thin out. I mostly kill bobcats and fox. My wife will never shoot an animal probably but she is good at controlling my foxpro and back in the day before we started using led torches she held the light.

I've been working on the coyotes and hogs here. Night vision??? Come on, I'm holding a spotlight under my gun, by my self! Shot 3 pigs off a 4 wheeler last night with that setup.

Get yourself a really loud call that squawks and transmits:
"allahu akbar ! allahu akbar! allahu akbar! Jihad!!! Jihad!!! allahu akbar"

A ;-) ;-) Predator will show up soon enough..........

:lol2: I know, I felt funny typing it. I'm pretty sure it was the 3 little pigs, because there was a wolf chasing them and that's why they were on the 4 wheeler in the first place. I'm still waiting on the DNA test to come back, then we'll know for sure if it was them.

Sky I never would have guessed this thread to be about predator hunting! Man you are always full of surprises. Now tell me about that XLR250 is it green? How far out can you see an animal not eye shine but the whole animal? Do you have it mounted on a gun?

Sometimes you guys just need to ask if your wife wants to go along when you do something - like check the cows or hunting. If you all have little kids, take them too.
Sometimes a wife likes to know that you enjoy her company. Whether she is free (not busy) to go or not doesn't really matter. It's the thought that counts.
At least for me.

Chippie if I did all that when would I ever have anytime to myself? I love my wife but there is such a thing as to much of a good thing.

When I ask my wife to accompany me in cow stuff, she looks up over her glasses and sez "really--out there--in the muck?--I think not"

Deepsouth yes I use green when in fields and a red light when im hunting in the woods. The green I can truly see an animal clearly out to about 225 yards through my scope on a clear night no fog or anything. I do have it mounted on my scope. I will take a pic soon as I start predator hunting or if I dig throught the gun safe before then. I love that light and its worth every penny. I was thiking about getting a white light version and keeping it in my truck. I highly recommend the xlr250

Deep my edit to that is you can see out to 250 yards but it gets a lil difficult to see whole animal sometimes so 225 I know that distance there is not an issue with seeing them.

That is what mine was saying.

No sense spoiling 'em eh?

If I want time to myself, I just stop in town and eat a couple of cheese/onion/&chili dogs--I get all the privacy and 'space' I want that afternoon and evening.. :tiphat:

that's mighty white of you.

greybeard,
good for you for asking.

Deepsouth,
What makes you think that she will go every time? Women enjoy time to themselves too. She may tell you no and be happy that you are out of the house.

I have to ask, how long have you been married and how many times? My husband and I have been together for 35 years and married for 30. We lived together for 5 years before marrying. This is my first marriage and my husband's second. My husband always asks me if I want to go with him. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. He doesn't get upset if I don't. It makes me feel good that he enjoys my company. I ask him if he wants to go with me also, even if I am just going to the store.

Chippie,
We've been married since September 4th but we've known each other since march. I've only been married 3 times in the last 7 years but I've got a feeling this time may be the last. I think we really do love each other even though she only married me for my looks. :cowboy: I'm just kidding Chippie so take a deep breath. :lol2: Actually we been married for 26 years, we started dating in high school and dated for 8 years till she got through high school and college. She was never a county girl and I've never had much concrete under my feet but we get along just great. I use to rope and I don't think she ever got on a horse more than a half a dozen times. Same for hunting she never even went with me any before we were married. She does like the cows though and she gets to wanting out of the house about once every week or so and we''ll ride out in the pasture and she knows every cows calf and she'll ask me all kinds of questions. She even talked me into keeping what I thought was a cull heifer last summer that now looks like she may be the best one in the bunch. We've raised two daughters, been through some good times and bad but we've always got along great. I wouldn't trade her for anything.
But she did marry me for my looks! :lol2:
