Incomplete

I've learned with a shotgun I can either hit ducks and not dove or dove and not ducks. Its either one but never both. If I'm slaying the dove in the fall I needn't worry about going duck hunting.

Its coming together and I'm feeling a slight itch on my finger but nothing yet to scratch it on.

Hoss, I'm not a very good shot with anything anymore. But your problem with a shotgun is your aiming and not following through. Keep your eyes focused on the target and not the barrel. I've had lots of trap and skeet lessons, and still stink.

Its coming together.

I hope so. Am a little worried about the final paint job. Had thought about dipping it in the film but decided to paint instead using a earth tone camo pattern.

That's what I was thinking. The dip looks really nice but I don't think it will hold up to scratches like paint will and I intend to put this rifle to heavy use and not baby it.

I hope so. Once I finish some chores I think I'll be making some bullets and see how she does. I hope nothing breaks to delay this because I'm pretty anxious to smell some cordite.

Looks good jo, can you tell us alittle about it? Looks kinda like its built on a remmy 700 platform due to the safety but i could be wrong. Also what kind of glass is sitting on top of it?

Sd, you are right. Its built on the 700 design. Its has a Stiller action with a Jewell trigger with a 27" Lilja barrel chambered in .308 with 1:10 twist vblock bedded in McMillan stock. Glass is Nightforce 5x20 MOAR. Been playing around with bullets to see what it likes. It sure doesn't like Nozler 150 grain partions but its driving tacs with 150 grain sierras. I'm going to pick up some heavier bullets today because I think this is where it will shine.

Nice Jo, what will you be using it for? Also how do you like the nightforce?

I'll hunt with it and I do a little target shooting. This will be my windy day gun I hope. I like Nightforce. I really liked the velocity 1000 reticle but it seems they discontinued that option.

Isn't that the truth. That is the fun and the aggravation of it I think. What miffs me is I'll find the perfect load then later I can't find one of the components to make more because they are out of stock.

One thing I've learned about this rifle is she is ticky. Give her what she wants and she'll drive tacks but sway from that and you might as well be shooting buckshot.
