I have an offer on the table for my farm. It is a real generous offer, but I don't know where I would try to relocate. If you could start over with ample funds where would you go? Take in mind I am only talking a couple hundred acres, no row crops, beef cattle only. Of course the grass is always greener and wetter over there. Raised in Texas and everything has always been in the heat, Asia,Africa ,Texas.

GA, California is probably out. I have a daughter, sil, and gkids there but , the state is not gun friendly. They live in Sacramento, both teach and have their phd's. the north part is beautiful.

about any where south of Saltillo..... good flat cattle country and aint rediculous priced

Ala, found saltillo , north of tupelo. I will get on line and check land prices and check for sale ads in the newspapers. What breed of cattle do you raise?
 
Had a fellow firefighter move to Bend Oregon . He and his wife raise llamas. They sell the crazy things all over the states.
 
I have thought about this before, and like I said I already live in my favorite area, but if I did have to move it would be Tennessee or north Georgia I think.

Indiana. Yankee charm with Southern sensibilities. And it rains. A lot, lately.
 
South Louisiana pecan island . South side of the road fishing shrimpin north side is ranch land , deer hunting ducks on both sides.
 
Lexington KY area. Some of the most beautiful horse farms I have ever seen, weather is good, grass is good. Other than that I like where I am pretty good. We rarely have snow but also dont have fire ants, mosquitos, hurricanes.
 
Jo, never been there, what's the climate. Everyone thanks for the replies. My wife and I are seriously thinking of relocating. We plan on doing a little research and a few real long road trips. We would like to stay in the different areas for a couple of weeks and really get a feel of the place. There are so many beautiful places in our great nation. Keep the suggestions coming please, compiling notes and who suggested what area. I will pm members later and ask other questions. I do not want to impose on anyone, thanks, Bill V.
 
Kt, no fire ants , no mosquitoes, there is a heaven. Lol it is a beautiful area. Might be out of my price range for a couple hundred acres. My wife wants me to keep the place in Texas for the daughters and gkids. So I might have to be selective. There goes the new pole barn and riding arena,lol.
 
Rent you a camper and go on a road trip-- you can park on my place to check out this area.
I really think the mountain guys have a good life running stockers in the summer then playing all winter.
I would have said our area was the best place for cattle 15 years ago-- not so much now. If you want to see us at our worst come in Feb/March, most years the mud just plain wears you out.

make sure you visit up north in the Winter. Took my guys up there for a week one year and they both HATED it. Son was so excited about all the winter activities we were going to do. He even hated the snowmobiling. They didn't enjoy the snow/cold at all, I was having a great time.
