Ok you get 50 animals... if selling price of calves were all the same, and if all cows ate the same amount annually what would you have on your farm.

Me: 20 Hereford
10 (Traditional) Simmental
10 Brahman
10 different bulls just to look at.
 
Oops... throw in a few Santa Gertrudis and a couple of beefmasters as well.... Then just 4 different bulls
 
I thought about longhorns as I do own them... But I figured they would cause trouble during feeding time with all those horns...

Guest... I never said I was getting a pied bull... I did ask questions about pied crosses though.... Maybe a pied would be one of my 4 bulls though... they look pretty slick...
 
Throw a few shorthorns in there as well......
Pretty soon I am gonna run out of room for the bulls.
-Ok put the short horns in place of 5 of the herefords...
 
50 Staright Red angus cows. Id use a European bred Char bull. The Char over there just seem to have way more power than any ive seen here.
 
If the market paid the same for any calf I brought too town without concern for breed, color, weight, thickness, marbling then keeping my cow costs at the minimum is all that would be left too consider. Small frame straight blood Polled Herefords.

if I get paid the same no matter what weight or type I'd have about 700 lowlines or something like that. put a lot more of them on the ground we run on now.
 
oh, ok. missed that part of the rules.

I'd stick with my commercial angus cows. they are proven to me and I know what I got.
 
thats an easy question to answer.if i could have 1 breed of cattle it would be 48 reg beefmasters an 2 top bulls.
 
I'd have:

20 Red Angus Females ... 1 Red Angus Bull (Maybe that Red Dawg bull of BRG's)

9 TxLH Females and a bull to breed to them... probably CS Ironman or our Stinger bull (depending on the cows)

10 Beefmaster Females
8 Gelbvieh Female...... 1 Bull to breed to those...not sure what breed yet

I would get 50 reg. polled hereford cows. Most likely 20 Marshal daughters, 20 m326 daughters, and the rest would be interstate and keynote.
