idiots

My guess is that; if he had shaped it to look like a hammer and sickle they would have given him a gold star for his creativity.

Words escape me.... :bang:

Like you Jogeephus, My first thought was this can not be happening in this country!! What we coming to? Anyone else on the board remember "Cap Guns"? You know those toy guns we used to buy that you had to put the red paper roll of caps into?? We used to actually bring those to school so we could play cowboy during recess... Ahhh... I can smell the burnt powder now just remembering!!

You can ridicule this all you want, but have you considered what might have happened if he tried to shoot the gun by squeezing it? The kid could have easily gotten strawberry filling all over his shirt and when he got home his mom would have paddled his butt for ruining his clothes. Then his mother would have been arrested for child abuse and the kid would have been removed from the home. He then would have bounced around between foster homes and then he becomes a hardened criminal and probably shoots someone with a real gun. Did you ever think of that??? This teacher should be given a medal for potentially saving a life, we need more leaders in our schools like these people that are willing to disregard common sense and do the right thing.

what happens when you let the federal government control the local schools.....

the localities chould take back control fo their schools and stop suckling on the teat of federal money....

most of the expenses of the schools are to meet federal mandates to get federal money.

Not to change the subject but did anyone see a few days ago a school or teacher sending a note home telling the parents their child was fat? I saw it on MSN a few days ago.

In theory it might work. But based on some of the lunatic crap that is happening in some state governements I doubt that it would be an improvement. Colorado for instance..............

when I say local I mean local......county level....then you can put your hands on the idiot bureaucrats.....
education should be a parental job but our culture has decided to farm it out....at least farm it out to someone who is answerable to you.....

I have been an advocate of a voucher and I meant a true voucher system for education for years. If the guvment is going to pass out money for education then they should pass it our to the parents to use at the school they like best. puts competition back into the game.
