My brother is a type 2 diabetic-He was pushing his motercycle(which I told him was gonna kill him)
out of the garage,got tangeled in junk and fell with it on his leg!! He did have his cellphone,so the fire dep got him out,told him they'd take him to the hosp to be checked out- He said "NO" Called me next day or so saying his leg was swollen,was red and painful. I told him to go to Dr. He said "NO,I'll wait til I'm almost dead"and laughed... :mad: :mad: :mad: Fri he called-leg worse-told him he was gonna fool around and have to have it amputated..He says Don't tell me that" What do you want me to do,pat you on the head,say there,there,everythings gonna be all right?!? :x Sat he drives himself to the hosp-says he remembers being in oncomeing traffic once,and hitting the cerb twice!
His suger is out of whack,hemagloubin also,and they don't like the way his heart is beating....He's had 2 pints of blood,2 leters of fluid-,iv antibiotics and has a catheter... 3 bones in his foot,and a toe broken..That was Sunday---gonna call tonight--Told him to consider his butt kicked for not listening to me... Anyhow,please pray for an IDIOT!!!!
 
thoughts an prayers going up for your bro.being a diebetic he needs to rally watch what he does.if he loves riding his cycle he better take care of hisself.
 
I can relate. I have an idiot brother myself. And an idiot husband. I will keep him in my thoughts.
 
Well 84722765354290476 I was right-they did take part of the foot--don't know how much,as he can't look at it yet..Can relate,took me 6 months after mastectomy before I could look at myself in the mirrior..He's a barber,
Says he'llbe in there at least 6 weeks..Thanks for prayers---

Peg, we'll pray for your brother. Coming back from an amputation is a slow process. My mom went through lots of physical rehab and fitting issues with a prostetic leg. And the emotional issues were just as hard, if not harder. I pray he will make a good adjustment, and start taking better care of himself.
 
OK-bad choices made because he had NO oxygen in his brain,cause of no iron in his blood,plus an irregular heartbeat!! Really,if he had gone on,he'd have a cast and itches-as is,a week more in the hosp,then 6 weekd learning how to balance again..

Thanks---I really love him,he just makes me soooooo mad!! :roll:
They pumped so much iron in him he should attract nails,and enough antibiotcs he shouldn't attract flys for a while. :) . All we can figgure out is he'd been anemic for some time,and all this came to a head at the same time.. Bad oxygen content leading to bad judgement and bad balance,all leading to loss of a foot! Be warned,if some of your older folks start being befuddled,don't just think "Oh,their getting older" get em checked out!!
 
Well,he's back in hospital-won't eat right,loading up on sugar and more sugar...Don't know what to do,he's supposedly a grownup... His choice to make..
 
Well ,now he's got colen cancer......... I'm pretty depressed,He's trying to curl up in a corner and hide............ Crapp just keeps on happening.
 
That is too bad Peg. But hey, if they caught it early he should be fine, my dad is a survivor of it for 12 years now,,,cancer free. Unfortunately it is very common in my family ,that and lung cancer . :(

Sometime everything seems to happen at once ,hang in there ,know that you have people that care about you.. :heart:
 
Don't know how soon they've caught it--He belived all the horror stories about colinoskipys(sp)
and so would not knowingly have one- anyhow'NOW he says it was absoloutly NO BIG DEAL--now-
He had talked to the Dr just before talking to me...
