Haha with your username I figured out that you're a Southerner lol I live in Minnesota, and icefishing is our thing. At this moment the ice is thick as 20" enough to drive a truck on the ice.

Ha, I don't go fishing if the water temp drops below 65. Standing around a hole in 20 inches of ice waiting on a fish to bite sounds like a good way to lose a couple of toes.

I didn't fishing outside actually. I have a permanent fish house that has a stove, a heater and a bathroom. It has six holes and I've do good on crappies and perch lately. I only go fishing outside when its 40F degrees....T-shirt weather for us Minnesotans ;-)

Yeah I do and they're called permanent fish house. I just got it last spring and I loved it!!! Spent few nights on the ice and slept in the fish house. It has a bunk bed as well.

I just can't envision myself ever getting into fishing with gear that way too much, resembles the Snoopy rod and reel my little grand daughter has...

I went ice fishing on Lake of the Woods, Minnesota a couple of years ago. We drove so far out on the lake, you could hardly see land. It was like a two lane highway going out there with numerous side roads. We caught walleyes and saugers, no trout. It was fun, I'd do it again.

I've had some lake trout before....delicious!!!! Smoked laker is good but so are fried trout!
