Ice Storm!!

Oh boy...that last one was awful. You stay safe, too.

Storm missed forecast...duh...from last nite's 6 pm warning. This AM when I went out was 30 deg. F. and freezing rain already had a 1/4" or so coat on everything (US 83 in front was still wet and limited TXDOT trucks & semis still running the road).

Now, at 10:37 AM it's sleeting... We're expected to get more sleet and then up to 12" snow accumulation before Friday. Need the moisture.

Got generator ready yesterday to go if needed for couple elec. heaters if needed. House and office on propane space heaters so we'll stay warm even if power goes off. Downside if power off is that COMPUTER won't work and elec. heater in well house won't go...don't want to think about that... :(

All cattle & horses have plenty of hay out, water tanks full, they all have loafing sheds for shelters. Hope 1 or 2 of our cows DON'T think about calving until after Friday...had one calve couple days ago...it's ok. But, you know cattle...they alway seem to drop a calf in the worst weather possible (when predators are holed up, I guess).

Cows sure know the storm is coming.....have ate twice as much hay in the last couple of days as they normally do.

Bill....been watching it on Weatherbug....looks like you guys are getting blasted with freezing precipitation and snow.....same in Oklahoma...looks like you're about as ready for it as you can get. Stay warm and be careful if you have to get out.

Freezing rain and snow should hit here sometime tonight. Brrrr... i don't need it. I think its Moonlite's fault.

here in the badlands 20 miles southwest of wolfforth
31 degree early this morning and rained most of the night
29 degrees about 9 or 10am and snow, then sleet/freezing rain
now 29 degrees and light rain
coldest & wettest winter in years
should be a good spring :D

Y'all stay safe and warm...
We're supposed to get thunderstorms tonight with lots of rain..Sure glad I don't have to be out on the road.

Violent thunderstorm blew thru here about 2:30...super high winds...little bitty hail...and it seemed to go on and on. After the tornado destroyed our pole barn several years ago, and a flat line wind collapsed our pasture shelter, I've been a mite nervous when stuff like this is happening...to say nothing of the dogs who will not leave my lap! It's storming here again, but at least the wind isn't as high.
