Yes I am going to drive down that. On Friday. :o :help:

You're going to drive down it, huh! I can't help myself...this begs the question...WHY?

It would snow in Hades before I even considered that little spin into oblivion.

Hey, I would do!
It’s a male thing!
Well maybe I wouldn’t because my GPS would probably blow a fuse!

The upper left part where it's on the face of the drop off is the part that would make me spooky.

It is the "road" to Batopilas, Chihuahua. Batopilas is an old mining town from the 1800's (and earlier) - second city in Mexico to have electricity!

It is in the bottom of one of the canyons of the Copper Canyon system - deeper than the Grand Canyon. I think we will have about a 7000 foot decent. It is a decent dirt road from what I can find - but only one lane for lots and no guardrails and about 35 miles at 15mph or less. Supposed to take 4 to 7 or even 11 hours to get down. Lots of people travel on it - it has become a popular mountain biking destination, and a bus goes every other day (yikes). Rumor has it road work gets done right before Easter as that is a big travel time in Mexico, so hopefully the big rocks will have been cleaned out of the way. I have driven around the Sierras some but still, this looks a little nerve wracking.

Taking a 15 passenger van. Hope to follow someone, I don't really want to go first. Taking my youngest son, 3 Germans, and 3 Hungarians (all friends). Also taking an extra $150 to hire a driver in case I chicken out. :lol2:

Oh! Oh my! A 15 passenger van is the LAST vehicle I would want to take down that road. :? :?

Wow, just plain wow! Let us know how it goes. :D

Looks like "Rattlesnake" grade going down into the Grande Ronde. That is the road going south from Anatone, WA headed toward Enterprise, Ore. It is one canyon west of Hell's Canyon. Had a tourist say that, "it didn't look to be that curvy or steep on the map." Well they don't make enough ink to show how it really goes. Don't let these flatlanders worry you. Just keep your speed down and you will be fine. Drive in low gear and save the brakes all you can.

Well Hippy you might see a shortcut but I wouldn't advise you to take any kinda shortcut on that road. Looks like it could prove to be fatal.
